Nine out of ten charges happen at home. The other two options are there for the days you need them.
Full battery by morning
A wallbox in your garage or driveway is the cheapest and most convenient way to run an EV. Plug in when you get home, and the car is ready before you are.
Top up while you shop or work
Shopping centres, hotels, office parks and restaurants across Nelson Mandela Bay offer AC charging. Park, plug in, and collect a few extra kilometres while you go about your day.

DC fast chargers sit along the N2, the Garden Route and major routes to Gauteng, spaced for a coffee-stop rhythm. Charge while you stretch your legs and be back on the road inside half an hour.

Overnight. On a home wallbox the 007 charges at 11 kW, the 06 at 7.4 kW and the Box at up to 6.6 kW, so a flat battery is full by morning on every model. Most owners plug in when they get home and never think about it again.
Yes. Every Dongfeng comes with a portable charger that plugs into a standard three-pin socket. It is slower than a wallbox, but it comfortably restores a typical day's driving overnight. We recommend a dedicated wallbox for the fastest, most convenient home charging.
Charging at home on standard Eskom or municipal tariffs works out from around R40 per 100 km, compared with roughly R224 per 100 km in an average petrol car. Public DC fast charging costs more per kWh, so most owners use it for road trips rather than daily driving. See the full cost comparison.
Most public chargers in South Africa run on the GridCars network, which you access with the free app or an RFID card. We set you up with the app at handover so your first public charge is straightforward. Google Maps and Electromaps help you find chargers and check live availability.
No. Occasional DC fast charging is exactly what the battery is designed for. For everyday driving, slower AC charging and keeping the battery between 20% and 80% is gentler and cheaper. Every Dongfeng battery is covered by a 10-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
